Barbecue areas built of brick are of course permanent so you need to think carefully about the best site to build one. You can get them as kits from DIY stores, usually comprising of a grill plate, a grate, bricks and some building instructions. These are very basic, being just a simple open grill with very little in the way of accessories or features. Some people build a brick surround with a hooded grill fitted inside it, getting the looks of a brick-built but with more features and higher performance.
